What application does UIUC use?
Freshman applicants applying to enter college in Fall 2022 will be able to apply to UIUC in one of three different ways: through myIllini, Coalition, or the Common App. We don’t give preference based on application type.
Does UIUC require letters of recommendation?
No, we don’t accept letters of recommendation. We’ll remove any unsolicited materials, including letters of recommendation, from your file before reviewing your application.
How hard is it to get into UIUC?
With an admissions rate of 62%, Illinois is moderately selective. Do keep in mind that most students are in-state, however. Some colleges within U of I have more competitive admissions statistics.
Is UIUC test optional 2022?
While typically part of our review process, testing availability has impacted the ability of many of our applicants to test and send scores in time for our deadlines. In response to the situation, UIC is allowing a test-optional pathway for individuals applying to the Spring 2021, Fall 2021, and Spring 2022 terms.
Does UIUC allow self reported?

Is Urbana-Champaign test optional?
Because high school students have had limited opportunities to take the SAT or ACT during the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign made the decision to go test-optional this year.
What time do UIUC decisions come out?
In order to allow you additional time to potentially retest and to provide a thorough holistic review during the COVID-19 pandemic, we are suspending the early action notification for the 2021 application cycle. All decisions will be released on February 19.
Does UIUC look at weighted GPA?
The average GPA at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is 3.83. (Most schools use a weighted GPA out of 4.0, though some report an unweighted GPA. If your GPA is at or below the school average of 3.83, you’ll need a higher SAT or ACT score to compensate.

When should I hear back from Purdue?
More information is available on the freshman scholarships page. Future freshmen who apply by the November 1 Early Action deadline will have a decision on January 15. Future freshmen who meet the January 15 Regular Decision deadline will have a decision by March 31.

Is Purdue better than IU?
Although I have limited research on rankings, I did find a U.S. News & World Report ranking that that ranks IU 71st overall and tied for 9th in the Big Ten. Purdue is merely 10 spots ahead at 61st and only 7th in the conference. To say you are by far superior in academics is a major exaggeration.
Is Purdue a respected school?
Purdue’s is a top tier engineering, Aviation, CS, and IT school. Krannert is slowly becoming a very successful Business school. We have an excellent agriculture program, and there’s a lot more. Overall, the rigor of Purdue academic makes it very special.
What does Purdue look for?
With a GPA of 3.69, Purdue requires you to be above average in your high school class. You’ll need at least a mix of A’s and B’s, with more A’s than B’s. You can compensate for a lower GPA with harder classes, like AP or IB classes.
How difficult is it to get into Purdue engineering?
Admission may be more difficult to certain parts of the school such as its School of Engineering. A little more than one in two (58%) applicants are accepted. The average ACT score of an admitted applicant for 2021 is 30 and the average SAT score is 1304. The average unweighted GPA is 3.62, weighted 4.01.
